This is a sociology presentation (work in progress) about a man's misinterpretation of application of U.S. Constitutional rights. The man is in a position, as an employer, to have power over other people so his perception and understanding of civil rights needs to be accurate. A person in his position could otherwise be oppressive in his attitude if he misconstrues civil rights and it could be detrimental to his employees.

His misconception concerning the document is somewhat common. He contends that the Constitution is to protect citizens from gov't which is only partially true. The 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution provides for equal protection of laws which is a crucial point as it relates to anti-discrimination laws.

So Sean holds a common misconception and is opinionated and active on social media but so what? I don't need to be taking on every misguided soul on the internet. He called me out first, though. Not a big problem in itself but then here this guy is wearing military combat fatigues as a costume for his sports devotee avocation. So there is cultural appropriation regarding military so I was irritated, & rightly so, because it's impudent to the point of cruelity but no service member (or veteran) could dare point that out or be dubbed "weak". His overall posit becomes disconcerting, to say it mildly.

I originally figured that his combat fatigues costume had to do with his favorite team relocating so often (I thought the Raiders may have moved more than any other team, but no...); I determined it has something to do with his dedication in the pandemic era & he seems to be promoting vaccination as a part of it so that's commendable, I suppose. I also found an article about Sean where he discussed his Rattler's costume: Sean Kirkwood, 2015 What A Fan Awards AFL Fan of the Year Nominee on Fan Man Weekly - fanmanweekly.blogspot.com.

Sean has the audacity to challenge my honor because I am not agreeing with him on a controversial issue but his argument is only based on his personal bias and perception; e.g., he questioned the chain of custody of the keys to the business when there is no evidence that the young woman did anything other than immediately turn them over to her ex-boss somehow. The original subject is of a young lady's actions when she quit a job; she video documented her process and posted it publicly. She didn't violate any law in the course of her leaving and in fact, aside from a bit of drama (her expressed emotion), she did it in a responsible manner. She put a sign on the door, turned off the lights and locked the door when she exited the premises.

There was actually two separate "threads" to Sean & my arguing. There was a first exchange (in second section here) where he replied to my original sardonic comment with the unspecific & open-ended question "What are you talking about?". I was obviously making light of the topic, attempting humour, so his question was ridicule; and my contention is that it was an ad hominem since it was meant to undermine my credibility. The second thread (first section here) was started by me replying to another comment of his where he replied to someone else's. I usually avoid interjecting in other people's exchanges since I'm sometimes just ignored.

How this relates to me & in my situation is that due to my disability and hardships that I endured throughout my life I was never able to complete higher education degree to coincide with my potential. I was a victim of a violent hate crime when I was a young man < and that description is an assessment that was made by a person with years experience in the social services field. I have been traumatized in my life and that permeated every area of my existence. As a result of the help given me, however, my overall autodidactic and informal education in social science is unparalleled. I interact with people on the international level and have been thanked & complimented on my insight on a number of occasions. If I went to work for someone like him, however, I wouldn't be able to stay employed at his business since he is an obstinate prick.

Note: The image popup behavior of the CSS template I used is a bit strange but I'm not utilizing Javascript code.

The biggest danger to our rights today is not from government acting against the will of the majority
but from government which has become the mere instrument of this majority...
Wrong will be done as much by an all-powerful people as by an all-powerful prince.
~ James Madison
